Last night I overheard an argument from my apartment. It was an interesting one and thought I should share it with you. The whole fuzz was about backing up Nintendo Wii games. There was a team which supported backing up Nintendo Wii games and there was another bunch, which thought it was illegal. The debate sounded interesting to me as I am a Nintendo Wii gamer too and am in the practice of backing up my games regularly.
In case you are not sure about the subject of the argument, let me give you a brief about it. Nintendo Wii games come with embedded copy protection สล็อต software programs, which prohibit you from making a copy of the disc. But most gamers fear the disc getting scratched or damaged and having to buy the game for that hefty price all over again. Therefore, all the gamers install these easily available Wii game copying software programs in their computers. As soon as you insert the Nintendo game CD in the computer, the program bypasses the copy protection software program on it and instead asks you to save the game in your computer or make a backup disc. That is all you need to do to create a back up.
Now coming back to the argument, I’m not sure if the people opposing the backup process know what law really states. However, most gamers who backup their games are aware of the correct law. It is absolutely legal to create backups of your Nintendo Wii games for your personal use. As long as you don’t sell those copies or rent them out, you are completely under the law. This is a fact and all gamers should know it. Now that you know that it is legal and also hassle-free, you can start backing up those games and do not worry about the legal aspects at all.
