LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp burst onto the scene last year by catching the game-winning Hail Mary against Northwestern.
The sophomore enters Saturday’s road game against the Wildcats with a team-leading 25 catches for 474 yards and three touchdowns.
Westerkamp is known for more than his numbers. He has repeatedly shown the ability to make the difficult catch. The biggest was his behind-the-back grab in the opener against Florida Atlantic.
Westerkamp’s skill is the product of countless hours he’s spent working on his craft with his father, Bob Westerkamp.
About 150 family members and friends will be in the stands in Evanston, Illinois, which is about half-hour drive from the Westerkamps’ home in Glen Ellyn.
